“… And a Happy New Year!”

Hey Y’all!

Happy Almost New Year! How are you? How have you been? Are you doing okay? Are you surviving and thriving? Just surviving (me too, friend)?

I’ve been seeing friends and family posting about what they’ve accomplished this past year and I am so proud of each and every one of you! I pray God’s blessings over you for 2024. May you achieve at least one thing on your Dreams List and may your heart be filled with joy and peace.

There were so many great things that happened to me this year. Ya girl got engaged! He’s a good one, y’all and I am so excited to start our married lives together this year. I trained for and opened a pretty cool location at work. I got to go home to see my mama and her fiancé, my grandparents, and my fur babies. I got to spend more time with my baby brother (who is 31 and a foot taller than me but I digress). I read over 21 books (Fourth Wing is amazing y’all). I’ve seen a lot of friends from all over the world (thank you Disney World for being a vacation destination). Most recently, I’ve been training to be a Trainer! I have had a lot to be thankful for this year.

While I have had my amazing times this past year, it has also had it’s struggles. That leads me to my 2024 Word of the Year…

*DRUMROLL PLEASE*

2024’s Word of the Year is… TRUST. I have struggled with trusting God and His plan for me for the past year, so I decided to make that my focus for 2024. I think I have let the daily stresses and disappointments attach themselves to my heart and spirit and, boy, have they put me in a chokehold. So, this year is all about casting off the pain and anxiety and embracing the faith and healing. Let God do what He’s gonna do and TRUST that He’s got me.

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”

Romans 12:12

2024’s Verse of the Year is:

“But the LORD stood with me and gave me strength.”

2 Timothy 4:17

This verse popped out at me while doing a Bible study and I fell In love with it. In my line of work, I get to interact with A LOT of people. Sometimes I become overwhelmed, feeling like I’m not doing anything right. This verse is such a comfort and I can’t wait to start repeating it to myself throughout the day

Now on to resolutions. Do you do resolutions? If so, what’s one of your resolutions for the new year? I usually only choose three to focus on for the year. I try to do one for my health, one for my finances, and one for my spirit.

Here are my resolutions (if I share them with you, maybe I’ll stick to it haha!):

  1. Workout 3 times a week (I hate going to the gym y’all)

  2. Do two “No Spend Months” (February and June)

  3. Read at least one book a month (I already have the 12 written out - Thank you to all who commented with your favorite books!)

I have a few more written down that I’ll also be working on but, these are my big three. I guess this year is all about challenging myself and TRUSTing the process.

If you’ve stuck with me this long, thank you! I want you to know that I’m grateful for you. I’m proud of you. I believe in you!

Happy New Year,

Hollie
